Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team of 5+ payroll tax specialists
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using MasterTax software.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant payroll processing experience in a payroll service bureau
  • Proven experience in managing payroll tax compliance and resolving tax notices.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Proficient in G Suite, particularly Google sheets.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Train, mentor, and support tax specialists, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and act as a subject matter expert on tax operations
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant tax regulations and laws.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and update processes accordingly.
  • Utilize MasterTax software for payroll tax processing, filing, and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues within the MasterTax system.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to resolve federal, state, and local tax notices effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with tax authorities to resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll tax records and reports.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Manager and other team members to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Communicate with employees and external partners regarding payroll tax inquiries and issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes.
