At BMS, the Cell Therapy Development Operations (CTDO) organization is focused on novel cellular immunotherapies based on two distinct and complementary platforms – Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CARs) and T Cell Receptor (TCRs) technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize medicine by re-engaging the body’s immune system to treat cancer. At the core of that mission are the talented individuals who contribute their unique skill sets to help us drive innovation and deliver truly life-changing drugs for our patients.
The Value Stream Performance group is a function of the local Business Operations Department as part of the Cell Therapy Development Operations (CTDO) organization. To drive initiatives aimed at making cell therapies more accessible, scalable, and efficient, our department’s core mission is to enable data-driven decision making and provide strategic planning capabilities for the local Cell Therapy network. Core elements of our work aim to improve data accessibility and to foster a data-driven culture through visualization and customized reporting tools for individual business units as well as site management.
The candidate chosen for this position will become a valued team member of a cross-functional team which is responsible for developing and executing VSP & Biz-Ops strategies for Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Candidates will be matched with projects based on skills and interest to support projects listed below.
Projects may include:
- Value Stream Mapping
- Key Performance Indicator Flow Charting & Metric Tracking
- Statistical Analytics & Graphical Techniques
- Dashboard Development
- MS SharePoint Optimization
- Highlight imbalances, issues, and opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
- Support development and implementation of Biz-Ops strategies at local & network level.
- Utilize data analysis to develop key performance metrics, support capacity models and improve overall operational performance.
- Learn, develop, and leverage analytics tools to inform and recommend methods for continuous improvement.
- Provide project management support.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
·Preferred enrollment in Bachelor’s program with minimum GPA 3.0 (graduation date: December 2024 and later).
·Desired backgrounds and/or degrees include: Engineering, Statistics, Data Sciences, Life Sciences.
·Must be enrolled in school the semester during the co-op assignment and must be eligible to work full-time on site for 40 hours per week.
·Must have strong analytical, project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be highly organized and have the ability to work in teams in a matrixed environment.
·Candidates should possess broad understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, operations management and advanced analytical skills.
·Must have the ability to collect, analyze, and integrate information by leveraging appropriate PC/systems technology including Tableau, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Prior technical, engineering, or pharmaceutical work experience a plus.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $20.00 - $29.00/hour.
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience and education level.
