Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • One year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
  • A Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic certification is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree or enrollment in a healthcare-related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within two weeks of hire and must be maintained thereafter through an American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification or recognized equivalent.
  • Ability to perform the listed standing, sitting, walking, stair climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, manipulation, and repetitive-motion activities.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and exert up to 50 pounds of force as required for patient transfers and equipment movement.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, depth perception, color discrimination, peripheral vision, and hearing acuity.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations and work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory function.
  • Ability to be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform multi-skilled activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Work three 12-hour rotating shifts per week, including weekends and holidays.
