Security Engineering Intern

The Security Team at Podium ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data, enabling our teams to build secure, scalable products for our customers. We’re looking for highly motivated and security-curious interns to join our team and help support and expand our Vulnerability Management Program.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of information security—Application Security, Cloud Security, and Security Operations. You’ll primarily assist with identifying, tracking, and remediating security vulnerabilities across Podium’s infrastructure and product stack. If you’re a Computer Science major with a strong interest in Security Engineering and want to build real-world skills in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What you will be doing:

• Assist with vulnerability triage and remediation coordination as part of Podium’s Enterprise Vulnerability Management Program
• Analyze security findings from scanning tools and work with engineering teams to ensure they are remediated
• Help maintain security dashboards and internal tooling used to track risks and vulnerabilities
• Participate in ad-hoc security projects across Application Security, Cloud Security, and the Security Operations Center
• Learn about common infrastructure and application vulnerabilities and how to defend against them in real-world environments
• Write clear documentation and suggest process improvements

Examples of Potential Projects:

• Evaluate the severity and exploitability of vulnerabilities identified by security scanners in cloud systems, container images and code.
• Help audit Podium’s cloud infrastructure for misconfigurations using security tools
• Analyze and report on Podium’s patch management posture across cloud and containerized environments

What you should have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or recently graduated in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field
• Strong interest in information security and a desire to build a career in Security Engineering
• Familiarity with at least one programming language or scripting language (Python, Powershell, Bash, PHP, or Elixir is preferred)
• Understanding of how operating systems, networks, and cloud platforms function at a high level
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative, team-first environment

What we hope you have:

• Previous coursework, internships, or personal projects related to security
• Exposure to cloud environments, particularly Amazon AWS
• Exposure to tooling such as Jira, Docker, CNAPP, Vulnerability Scanners (Code/Infrastructure)
• Comfortable reading documentation and learning new tools independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills—especially when explaining technical topics clearly
