Requirements
  • Current undergraduate student at the University of Virginia. Students graduating in May 2026 are eligible only if they continue into a graduate program at the University of Virginia.
  • Availability for at least six tour shifts per week.
  • Availability for scheduled Monday-through-Saturday summer tour shifts, which may change.
  • Significant physical activity, including walking outdoors around Grounds in various weather conditions.
  • A resume must be submitted with the application.
  • A one-minute video submission is required, and the application will not be considered without it.
  • The video file must be labeled with the applicant’s first and last name, be no longer than one minute, answer the prompt, have clear audio, and feature only the applicant.
Responsibilities
  • Attend scheduled training sessions between April 21 and April 30.
  • Provide tours for prospective students and visiting groups.
  • Serve at the Office of Undergraduate Admission front desk by greeting guests and answering phone calls.
  • Work alongside Deans on Admission projects, including social media, marketing, student outreach, inventory management, and event planning.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Serve as a positive and respectful public-facing representative of the University of Virginia community.
  • Assist with special events such as admission open houses, including additional Saturday events.
  • Perform related duties as requested, including reception work and clerical tasks.
  • Complete assignments on time.
  • Observe time reporting rules and regulations.
  • Maintain punctuality.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful, supportive, and team-oriented atmosphere among coworkers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous tour experience is appreciated but not required.
