  • An active, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado is required.
  • Two years of documented experience in the area of instruction are required.
  • A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree from a nationally accredited Nursing Education Program is required.
  • Strong pharmacology and general treatment knowledge and skills are required, including the ability to interpret patient information to assist students in decision-making.
  • The ability to engage with students in clinical situations and lead clinical conferences is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as evidenced by teaching evaluations, are required.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in American Psychological Association 7th edition style and academic writing are required.
  • The ability to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends, may be required.
  • A committed evangelical Christian faith, agreement with the university's Statement of Faith and lifestyle expectations, regular meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church, and the ability to apply biblical principles in the workplace are required.
Responsibilities
  • Teach, supervise, and evaluate nursing students during clinical and simulation experiences.
  • Attend all course orientations provided by the lead course faculty and grade and submit student clinical and simulation performance documents in a timely manner as required for the course.
  • Teach four to five weeks of simulation and/or four weeks of clinical during most eight-week blocks in the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
  • Assess student achievement of course outcomes related to professional nursing practice.
  • Assist with classroom management and grading of course assignments.
  • Integrate biblical principles and concepts into student experiences for professional practice.
  • Assist students in their self-evaluation and spiritual formation.
  • Provide feedback to standing nursing faculty on the course, clinical competencies, student learning modalities, simulation scenarios, and clinical site.
  • Maintain nursing competence in the area of specialty.
