Requirements
  • At least 10 years of technical program management experience leading highly complex, company-wide technical transformations within hyper-growth software-as-a-service, cloud infrastructure, or Tier-1 technology environments.
  • Proven people-management experience overseeing lean teams of high-performing technical program managers while remaining deeply technical and maintaining a hands-on leader profile.
  • Deep architectural and systems fluency, with a strong technical background and the ability to navigate complex engineering discussions involving distributed systems, large-scale data infrastructure, and Scala environments.
  • Demonstrated structural change-management experience, specifically driving a cultural shift from software procurement and requests for proposals to native product building, engineering design, and fit-gap analysis.
  • Experience driving clarity out of extreme ambiguity and aligning vice president- and C-level stakeholders on engineering trade-offs.
  • A data-driven analytical mindset and the ability to use data analytics, SQL, Python, or data notebooks to map system boundaries, quantify performance metrics, and establish program key performance indicators.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, execution, and deployment of an internal agentic platform, transitioning the enterprise from a legacy third-party request-for-proposal culture to an in-house building culture.
  • Re-engineer the software development lifecycle by embedding generative artificial intelligence and intelligent automation into core operational workflows alongside product managers, technical program managers, and software engineers.
  • Orchestrate large-scale, highly complex programs across multiple business units, including corporate security-hardening programs and enterprise-wide platform migrations.
  • Establish rigorous metrics, manage observability, and evaluate system return on investment to improve platform adoption, employee net promoter score, and organizational value.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership to a team of 3–4 technical program managers, scaling their technical execution and championing distributed-systems excellence.
  • Partner with the chief information officer, Corporate Engineering vice presidents, Research and Development Operations, and cross-functional product teams to move tools from concept to go-to-market readiness.
  • Build a first-party agentic application platform to architect, deploy, and scale internal artificial-intelligence tools and autonomous digital agents.
  • Replace legacy software-as-a-service tools and third-party vendors with scalable solutions built on the Databricks platform.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience deploying generative artificial intelligence, large language models, or autonomous agent-based capabilities inside enterprise platforms or customer-facing production workflows.
  • Deep familiarity with the Databricks ecosystem, including Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog, Mosaic AI, and Delta Lake, or equivalent large-scale data and artificial-intelligence platforms.
  • Experience guiding products through a full incubation lifecycle and transitioning internal information-technology enterprise tooling into reliable, commercialized software assets ready for market.

Databricks provides a unified data and AI platform built around a lakehouse architecture that blends data lakes and data warehouses. It helps organizations ingest, store, manage, and analyze data from various sources, then apply analytics and machine learning at scale. The platform offers automated ETL, secure data sharing, and high-performance analytics, with built-in support for AI workloads and model deployment. Unlike traditional single-purpose data stores, Databricks combines data engineering, data science, and business analytics in one system, aiming to streamline data workflows and make insights readily actionable. Its goal is to enable businesses to manage data more efficiently, accelerate insight generation, and deploy AI and analytics across diverse teams through a subscription-based platform and professional services.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity.
