Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with high school students, their families, and school counselors in a variety of settings.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and organizational skills, with the ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and sensitivity to multicultural and socioeconomic issues.
  • Experience making compelling presentations to small and large groups.
  • Proven ability to work successfully independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a student-facing role in college admissions, secondary school admissions, or a related experience in another higher education setting.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move recruitment materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a goal-driven recruitment strategy for an assigned geographic area, including efficient and cost-effective travel management.
  • Attend programs, presentations, and regional events; meet with, counsel, and inform prospective students, families, and school counselors; and conduct follow-up and evaluation after travel.
  • Review applications using specified evaluation policies and procedures, completing thorough, accurate, and consistent evaluations within required time periods.
  • Work the hours required to complete application evaluations, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinate and manage specific projects supporting the overall admissions cycle, including setting goals, developing and managing timelines, achieving results, and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate accurate information and counsel students, parents, school counselors, and other stakeholders during on- and off-campus interactions, including school visits, information sessions, college fairs, campus tours, student events, counselor programming, correspondence, email, and phone calls.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Admissions Visitor Center.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with recruitment programming, travel scheduling and budgeting, admissions counseling, and application evaluation.
  • Proficiency or comfort with technologies such as Microsoft 365, admissions databases and software, and data analysis.
