  • 7+ years of risk management experience, specific knowledge in financial crimes or core compliance area is preferred.
  • Management experience. Preferably experience managing teams/staff in remote locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in creating high-quality presentations, reports, and process documentation.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Experience developing and delivering training, workshops, and strategic program messaging across various platforms.
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, takes initiative proactively.
  • Experience leading team projects to accomplish a variety of tasks and meet deadlines timely. Team-oriented approach to completing objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise across all three of the MUFG lines of defense, including core second-line compliance programs (Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery & Corruption), business functions, Internal Audit, Compliance Testing, and Regulatory Exam Management in furtherance of Issues Management policy, standard, and procedure implementation and execution.
  • Develop subject matter expertise regarding Issues Management policy, standard, and procedures.
  • Drive review, development, and enhancement of Issues Management policy, standard, and procedures, along with other program execution documents.
  • Collaborate with regional Compliance offices, Risk, and other issues-related functions to align global and regional requirements for Issues Management policy and procedures, including review & challenge processes.
  • Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders to drive consistency in the implementation of GFCD and Compliance policies and policies across all three MUFG lines of defense.
  • Track and report on status of compliance issues on regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Administer oversight councils, such as review and challenge processes for significant issues.
  • Support the Director of GFCD and Americas Compliance Issues Management in program development and execution, working with other members of the team on strategic and operational enhancement.
  • Manage a team of compliance professionals and work cross-department to support program as necessary.
  • Support compliance activities and perform program governance duties, including projects and ad hoc duties as assigned.

New debt facility for our gas assets

We are pleased to announce that RATCH-Australia Corporation Pty Ltd achieved financial close on 2 March 2023 for its 2 and 7 year dual tranche $197 million non-recourse fully amortising syndicated debt facility. This debt facility refinanced the two gas fired power stations located at Townsville (242MW) in Queensland and Kemerton (310MW) in Western Australia. These generators provide efficient low carbon dioxide emitting base load and firming electricity which is supporting Australia’s transition to renewable energy and net zero. The debt financing was provided by a lending syndicate comprising ING, MUFG, SMBC Group, Standard Chartered Bank and Societe Generale. The term of each tranche of the debt facility matches the expiry date of the existing Power Purchase Agreements (2025 for Townsville and 2030 for Kemerton) whilst providing the flexibility to RATCH-Australia to enter new offtake agreements and re-lever the assets, subject to customary consents from lenders.  Polagorn Kheosiplard, Chief Executive Officer of RATCH-Australia, said “this transaction removes refinancing risk for these assets and enables RATCH-Australia to adapt and evolve its renewable and gas power generation portfolio to provide the energy and grid security that Australia’s decarbonising economy needs.”  RATCH-Australia was assisted by RBC Capital Markets as our financial adviser, Squire Patton Boggs as borrower’s counsel, Jacobs Group as technical adviser, PwC as tax adviser and JPA Financial Modelling as model auditor.
