Requirements
  • 3-10 years demonstrated ability in leading design effort of complex equipment for high volume manufacturing within defined schedule and budget requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline or related technical discipline
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering skills to lead a technical project from concept through design and into production
  • Project management skills related to schedule, budget and equipment supplier interface
  • Proficient knowledge and working experience of mechanical design and machine automation
  • Fluency in 3d and 2d CAD modeling software (Solidworks and Autocad preferred)
  • Ability to complete (PID's) for existing and new processes
  • Analyses and solves technical problems in production, with the support of other services: maintenance, laboratory, logistics, etc
  • Responsible for equipment qualification planning, execution, and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills to ensure effective participation with interdepartmental teams
  • Working knowledge of operating principles of production machine components such as pneumatics, circuits, motors, temperature controllers and sensors
  • Knowledge of the principles of part fabrication processes such as CNC machining, Injection molding, Thermo forming, etc
  • {Optional} Working knowledge of PLC programming a plus
  • {Optional} Experience in automated battery pouch equipment a plus
  • {Optional} Working knowledge of Statistical Process Controls a plus
Responsibilities
  • Engineering support for new equipment or modification of existing equipment to support high volume manufacturing of sodium ion battery pouch cells
  • Collaborate with technical team and manufacturing equipment suppliers and lead equipment projects (design, planning, timing, cost) from design phase all the way to FAT, installation, and SAT
  • Implementation of design changes to support improved cycle time, in-line process control & monitoring improvements throughout product line
  • Help with engineering changes to reduce equipment cost for future product line expansion
  • Generate and maintain high quality engineering documentation such as engineering drawings, maintenance procedures, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) etc
  • Interface and provide technical direction to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for compliance to technical specifications of automated equipment
  • Responsible for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets for design of new equipment or modification to existing equipment
  • Generate technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct design reviews of proposed engineering designs to other technical professionals within the Natron engineering group and senior management
  • Coordinate facilities planning and support installation of battery manufacturing equipment set
  • Support upgrade, modification, and troubleshooting of existing manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to interface with global cross functional teams and suppliers
  • Provide DFM (Design for manufacturing) input to next generation battery products
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety Procedures and Housekeeping standards
  • Demonstrate creativity via novel ideas adding to Natron's IP portfolio
