Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, though this requirement may be waived with equivalent related work experience.
  • Zero to one year of related work experience is required.
  • A Massachusetts driver's license and good driving record are required.
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access, is required.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English is required.
  • The ability to make decisions guided by general instructions and practices, address varied problems using observation and established knowledge, follow procedures, organize work, and seek assistance in difficult or unpredictable situations is required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in small teams and provide professional, respectful customer service while remaining calm in stressful situations is required.
  • The role requires the ability to perform heavy work involving up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 50 pounds frequently, with extended periods of standing or moving.
  • Influenza vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative security and safety patrols throughout buildings and grounds.
  • Participate in follow-up investigations.
  • Provide security for hospital patients, visitors, staff, and employees and safeguard property by responding immediately to requests and emergency codes.
  • Remain alert for unusual or abnormal conditions and suspicious activities.
  • Observe unauthorized persons, take appropriate action, and notify a supervisor or police when necessary.
  • Lock and unlock doors according to established procedures.
  • Enforce parking policies for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Investigate reports of leaks, broken windows, facility damage, and similar issues and inform the Facilities Department.
  • Report potential fire or safety hazards.
  • Perform and participate in security, safety, and facilities inspections, fire watches, and alarm checks.
  • Greet and assist visitors, patients, and others; respond to questions, requests, and concerns; and help patients, employees, and visitors obtain needed information.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of hospital or campus security or law enforcement experience is preferred.
  • MOAB training is preferred.
  • CPR certification and First Aid training are preferred, or must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
