Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have Outdoor Emergency Care certification or Emergency Medical Technician certification
  • Must have a current CPR card
  • Must complete snowmobile and ATV training upon arrival
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program
  • Must register with the National Ski Patrol, pay dues, and purchase an Outdoor Emergency Care book and pay a one-time administrative fee
  • This position requires the ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations
Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency care, assistance, and information to guests to ensure a safe skiing experience
  • Administer basic first aid and CPR, and coordinate advanced care and transport for serious injuries
  • Monitor adherence to the Skier Responsibility Code, inform guests, and manage related literature
  • Mark hazards, check and pad man-made objects, and ensure safe conditions before opening trails
  • Inspect skier transport systems, report safety issues, and monitor equipment wear and tear
  • Conduct end-of-day sweeps for lost or injured guests and arrange transport in inclement weather
  • Manage patrol dispatch, handle incident reports, and coordinate emergency responses
  • Arrange and assist with transportation for injured guests, including driving if needed
  • Maintain high skiing/riding standards, including toboggan handling and National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care certification
  • Assist at lift terminals, check tickets, and address guest service issues
  • Execute emergency ski lift evacuations using National Ski Patrol techniques and resort plans
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to ski or ride snowboards adequately to perform duties
  • Minimum of 3 years of skiing/riding experience
  • Level 2 and Level 3 patrol positions available to qualified candidates
  • Previously may be considered for First Responder, EMT, or Paramedic training participation (as part of the NSP program)
