Proposal Writer, Senior
Key Role:
Work with other writers, solution architects, program professional, and capture teams to develop original content for responses to government requirements. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the proposal writing community regarding processes, tools, and templates. Work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve content development processes and proposal best practices. Develop content by interviewing SMEs and reviewing source documents and historical reuse documents to create proposal material that translates capture and win strategies into winning proposal documents that integrate and link with all other volumes. Engage with the Capture Manager, Proposal Manager, Lead Solution Architect, and other proposal team members to develop and execute a comprehensive Content Plan. Work across technical, management, past performance, and resume sections of proposals, building excellent relationships, and supporting diverse customer needs. Work closely with capture teams, solution leads, and other pursuit team members to drive the success of requirements, planning, and creation of winning proposals, including proposal readiness reviews and milestone reviews. Work with the capture teams to contribute to developing the winning proposal strategy and refining themes and discriminators. Due to the nature of work performed in the facility for this position, U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with writing
Experience with interviewing technical personnel
Experience with mentoring junior writers
Experience with producing original, clear, compelling, and compliant content
Experience with interviewing Subject Matter Experts for proposal content
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel
Ability to provide a writing sample
Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with proposal compliance audits
Experience with delivering project solutions to federal clients
Ability to work with teams of varying sizes, technical skill sets, and levels of authority both internally and externally
Ability to work outside normal business hours
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Communication Arts

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
