- Australian driving licences
- Strong work ethic, who is reliable and shows initiative
- Physically fit with a desire for working in a hands-on, outdoor environment
- Ability to work away for 3 nights monthly
- Good computer skills/aptitude
- Ability to swim
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Hands on role, requiring teamwork, reliability and initiative
- Routine visitation and maintenance of remote environmental monitoring sites, consisting mainly of stream flow monitoring and meteorological monitoring sites
- Collect and verify environmental data using various software packages and scientific instruments in the field (streamflow gauging, Water quality/sampling etc)
- Assistance in completing other environmental monitoring projects and routine works as required
- Accurate Record keeping including field notes, photographs, and maps
- Assisting in the upgrade of old, and installation of new environmental monitoring stations across the Gippsland Region
- Use of a wide range of hand tools; work can include manual excavation for extended periods of time
- Experience in the use of hand, power and pneumatic tools is highly desirable
- Electronics and mechanical aptitude an advantage
- Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of, and adherence to general HSE principles and practices
- Good computer skills/aptitude
