Requirements
  • Deep, working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related laws
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or a related field and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Workers’ Comp and/or Leave, or 5+ years of solid, related experience if no degree
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the full lifecycle of Workers’ Compensation claims from start to finish
  • Talk with employees about their leave or modified schedule needs
  • Support the FMLA process from the first conversation through to a successful return
  • Maintain regular communication with employees on leave
  • Help managers and employees navigate how leave laws work alongside PTO, Workers’ Comp, and disability benefits
  • Assist with the return-to-work process for employees coming back from extended leave
  • Coordinate leave requests related to ADA accommodations
  • Support Shared Leave programs
  • Keep meticulous records of leave and accommodation requests
  • Protect employee medical documentation with discretion and care
  • Keep knowledge fresh on all things FMLA, ADA, and state/local leave laws
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA and state-specific regulations
Desired Qualifications
  • Washington Workers Compensation Professional (WWCP) certification
  • Experience working in union environments
