Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in group benefits, including at least 3 years in a Client Executive or similar-level role, is required.
  • The candidate must be licensed in Arizona Health, Life, and Disability.
  • The candidate must be able to develop and work with mathematical formulas.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external parties.
  • The candidate must be able to conduct education and enrollment meetings and be comfortable with public speaking.
  • The candidate must have time management, organizational, and multitasking skills with close attention to detail.
  • The candidate must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, and peers.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Sales Executives in securing new business, managing strategic client relationships, and overseeing client service, renewal activities, and product administration.
  • Manage Benefits accounts strategically by developing partnerships with clients’ senior decision-makers, human resources managers, and support staff.
  • Strategize with Sales Executives to present capabilities and secure new business.
  • Grow the block of business through new clients and lines of coverage, including cross-selling the agency’s service offerings.
  • Provide creative, strategic, proactive, and technically correct advice to clients.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of carriers and products, recommend new products and services, advise on plan-design and compliance issues, and recommend modifications supporting clients’ business and financial objectives.
  • Negotiate with insurance carrier representatives and underwriters to develop practical solutions.
  • Manage and review vendor selection with clients based on pricing, financial strength, products, and services, and recommend changes when appropriate.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and advise internal and external clients on compliance requirements.
  • Advise clients and, when appropriate, assist in ensuring plan documents, policies, government filings, and other applicable documents are complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and leadership to the internal service-delivery team.
  • Mentor, develop, and educate internal and external participants through industry and community involvement.
  • Resolve escalated service issues.
  • Maintain electronic client files, including documentation of client meetings, issues, and decisions.
  • Ensure licensing and appointment information required to obtain commissions is completed with carriers.
  • Plan, prioritize, and complete the daily workload across new business, renewal business, and service responsibilities while meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Conduct business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Attend onsite and offsite client meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Some college or technical training in a related discipline.
  • Continuing education such as Registered Health Underwriter, Registered Employee Benefits Consultant, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, or Certified Benefits Professional.
  • Experience using BenefitPoint.
