Belden sets focus on easing the broadband technician experience.

Belden sets focus on easing the broadband technician experience. Sept. 1, 2026 Belden, which has carved out a reputation for serving both telcos and cable operators, has continually evolved its fiber-centric broadband product set, and its recently released offerings show that it is continuing that trend. During the Fiber Connect 2026 show, the company debuted two key new solutions: the PPC QuikPass(TM) solution and the DiamonDrop(TM) Single-Fiber Drop Cable. Belden's PPC QuikPass(TM) solution is designed to provide an aesthetically pleasing, simplified solution for FTTH applications in multi-dwelling units (MDUs). With the DiamonDrop(TM), a single-fiber drop cable, it is engineered to make field terminations faster, easier, and more reliable for last-mile/drop broadband applications. Another key development is the evolution of its Messengered QuickDrop cable. Leveraging its expertise in providing aerial cabling solutions for MSOs' coax cable, Belden adapted the Messengered QuickDrop cable to a fiber solution. This product will come in handy for MSOs migrating to fiber, as it lets them follow the same aerial-hanging procedures, so they don't have to retrain their technician force and can save capital and time. In this video, Lightwave's sister publication ISE talked to Mike Smith, product manager for fiber drop and pathway at Belden Broadband, about its efforts to simplify a broadband technician's efforts to install fiber broadband. Belden: new edge connectivity, resilient switching and high-density infrastructure innovations.

Belden: new edge connectivity, resilient switching and high-density infrastructure innovations. New IO-Link analog hubs, centralized enterprise and industrial orchestration, low-voltage DC options for rugged switching, scalable MPO fiber infrastructure and expanded life-safety cabling help modernize IT/OT networks from device to core. Belden Inc. has announced the launch of new products and portfolio expansions designed to help customers build more efficient, resilient and scalable IT/OT networks - spanning industrial device connectivity, wireless orchestration, rugged switching and power options, high-density fiber infrastructure and life-safety cabling. Operational Technology (OT) environments across manufacturing, energy and transportation continue to evolve as operators connect more devices, support more applications and extend networks into harsher and more distributed locations. Belden's latest launches are designed to simplify integration at the edge, strengthen network reliability and accelerate deployment and operations - while creating a stronger foundation for IT/OT convergence. Latest product launches and expansions: * Belden LioN-X IO-Link Analog Hubs connect analog sensors to any IO-Link network via 4 configurable ports (voltage, current, resistance, thermo-couple) plus 8 digital inputs on the same device. Powered over IO-Link, no additional power supply or M12 L-coded connection is needed. * Belden Wireless Orchestration is a software-based WLAN controller that manages enterprise and industrial access points from one dashboard and can be used to position unified wireless management. * ProSoft 8-Channel HART Gateway (PLX51-HART-8I) bridges 8 isolated HART channels to EtherNet/IP or Modbus, connecting up to 64 field devices to your control system without adding gateways to the panel. * Belden ACX 4U Panel and 12 Port MPO Adaptor Strip (APAC only) extends the ACX family for high-density data center deployments. The solution supports preterminated and splice applications, delivering 384F and 192 MPO-12/8 ports in a 4U for MDA and IDA environments. The pull-out drawer design simplifies installation and maintenance. * Hirschmann GREYHOUND GRS2000 Low Voltage powers network equipment straight from the low-voltage DC rail that already runs a substation, trackside or process site, with no separate converter required. The GRS2000 line extension adds a low-voltage DC power supply option, single or redundant, so the switch connects directly to the rail. It is a straightforward migration path for sites moving off the Hirschmann MACH1000 and GRS1020/30 families, and for any site that needs DC power flexibility. * Belden Safe-T-Line(TM) Expansion - EN 50200 PH120 & CPR Cca supports fire alarm, evacuation and emergency communication systems that require CPR-compliant, circuit-integrity cables that perform under pressure. This Safe-T-Line expansion adds CPR Cca (s1b, d1, a1) and EN 50200 PH120-certified cables in shielded and unshielded variants, purpose-built for building and infrastructure projects. * Hirschmann IT MTS 2608/2708 Switches are now available in the Americas and EMEA. These entry-level 8-port Gigabit Ethernet managed switches are designed for IT/OT convergence in manufacturing, energy, transportation, and oil and gas environments. With 4x 1G SFP+ uplinks, ERPS ring redundancy and a comprehensive security suite, they give customers a cost-effective way to build reliable, converged networks. The MTS2708 adds 802.3at PoE+ with a 125W power budget. With these launches, Belden is helping customers connect more field signals, orchestrate and scale wireless access, add power flexibility in rugged switching, expand fiber density for cross-connect environments and meet critical life-safety cabling requirements - supporting more capable, resilient IT/OT infrastructure from device to core.

Belden expands industrial Wi-Fi 6 portfolio with DAP849 industrial access point.

Belden expands industrial Wi-Fi 6 portfolio with DAP849 industrial access point. August 6, 2026 By Chantal Polsonetti Company and Product News Belden introduced the DAP849, a new member of its DAP800 family of industrial Wi-Fi 6 access points. The DAP849 is designed for outdoor and trackside applications that require wireless connectivity, fiber network integration, and industrial-grade environmental protection in a single device. The DAP849 combines an 802.11ax access point, a managed Layer 2 Ethernet switch, direct AC power input, and fiber-optic uplinks in one IP67-rated enclosure. Available versions support either dual 1 Gbps fiber ports or dual 2.5 Gbps fiber ports, along with two 10/100/1000 Mbps M12 Ethernet ports. The device also supports industrial redundancy protocols, including Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS). The access point uses dual-band Wi-Fi 6 radios with 4x4 MIMO operation in the 5 GHz band and 2x2 MIMO operation in the 2.4 GHz band. A dedicated scanning radio supports wireless monitoring and security functions. Within the DAP800 product family, the DAP849 extends the outdoor access point portfolio beyond the existing DAP847 models. While the DAP847 platform provides industrial Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for outdoor and onboard applications, the DAP849 adds integrated managed switching, dual fiber uplinks, and direct AC power capability. This allows deployment in locations where fiber infrastructure and AC power are already available without requiring separate switching or power-conversion equipment. The DAP849 and DAP847 share the same Wi-Fi 6 radio platform and management environment, including support for Belden Wireless Orchestration and Industrial HiVision for centralized configuration, monitoring, and diagnostics. Together, the products provide a range of options for industrial, transportation, and infrastructure applications requiring rugged wireless networking.
