Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and treasury functions
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance operations, particularly cyber insurance, is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Excel (lookup formulas, pivot tables, power query).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze product performance and profitability metrics.
  • Model/assess performance scenarios to analyze risks and opportunities alongside the FP&A team and other teams.
  • Support pricing strategies and business case development for new product launches.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and optimize working capital to ensure liquidity.
  • Manage banking relationships, monitor accounts, and oversee treasury operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks, including currency and interest rate exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with financial covenants and other regulatory requirements related to treasury activities.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including coordinating inputs from various departments.
  • Provide rolling forecasts and scenario planning to adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Collaborate and prepare final monthly analyses of business trends and budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions.
  • Proactively identify and communicate possible scenarios, risks and opportunities around business performance alongside the FP&A team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, regulatory, and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to reconcile financial planning data with actual results.
  • Support leadership in evaluating mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Conduct the development of strategic business analysis with overlays and commentary alongside the FP&A team.
  • Provide insights into market trends, competitive analysis, and investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate in developing and analyzing economic drivers of the business client (e.g., customer churn, renewals).
  • Work closely with the finance and accounting team to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and financial excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the insurance industry (P&C lines preferred).
  • Proficiency with WorkDay Adaptive planning software.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Tableau or any other visualization tools (i.e. PowerBI).
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
