Requirements
  • 4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined parts
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
  • GD&T experience is required
  • CMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience)
  • CMM programming experience is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be willing to undergo background
  • Must be available a minimum of 4 hours per day if deployed
Responsibilities
  • You will be conducting precise mechanical inspections at the client-supplier sites
  • Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings
  • Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
  • Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required
  • Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements
  • Communicate with internal customers, and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepancies
  • Perform surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required
  • Use an electronic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and components to proper departments
