Jimmy John's promotes CMO Darin Dugan to brand president

Jimmy John's chief marketing officer Darin Dugan has been promoted to brand president, succeeding James North, who becomes global brand ambassador. Kate Carpenter, previously vice president of integrated marketing, will take over as CMO. Dugan becomes only the third person to lead Jimmy John's since its founding in 1983. The chain now operates 2,600 restaurants across 44 US states and recently expanded internationally to Canada, El Salvador and South Korea. Dugan joined parent company Inspire Brands in 2018 through its Sonic Drive-In acquisition and moved to Jimmy John's as CMO. Inspire Brands, which also owns Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins, acquired Jimmy John's in 2019. Carpenter joined the sandwich chain in October 2023, bringing experience from Papa John's and Coca-Cola.
