Responsibilities
  • Underwrite a specific line of business within Retail Property.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions to be underwritten.
  • Identify risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience, and appropriate controls.
  • Analyze claims and quantify losses.
  • Adhere to guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks.
  • Ensure underwriting files, service standards, and compliance guidelines are followed on assigned accounts.
  • Offer coverage, terms, and conditions that generate a profit for the company while meeting customer needs.
  • Capture market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts.
  • Begin demonstrating technical expertise with products in the Financial Lines portfolio.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, financial and analytical skills, critical thinking, and sound decision-making and judgment.
  • Negotiate successfully and build collaborative relationships.
  • Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
