Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A registered professional nurse license valid for the applicable work location, including Wisconsin licensure or a compact-state registered nurse license.
  • Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying objects, patient movement, communication, vision, hearing, and safe operation of equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform scrub functions, including selecting and handling instruments and supplies used during procedures.
  • Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating the patient's condition and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice and deliver care based on patients' age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Follow professional nursing standards and use the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to patients' current and evolving health needs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
