Requirements
  • Educational Background: Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in dbt, Airflow, SQL, Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn. Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Metabase, or Looker
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 8 years in data analytics (healthcare preferred), with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Prior experience in healthcare technology or a related industry is highly desirable
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex analytics projects from inception to completion. Experience with agile methodologies
  • Analytical Skills: Strong background in statistical modeling, data mining, and use of analytics to solve business problems
  • Compliance and Governance: Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA. Experience in data governance and stewardship
  • Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team of data analysts and scientists
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for a non-technical audience
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into data and analytics strategies
  • Innovation: A track record of leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to drive business innovation

Responsibilities
  • Analytics Infrastructure: Lead the development of tools for analytic engineering, data analytics, data science and data visualization. These tools may be developed in-house or purchased from a vendor
  • Development Lifecycle: Implement software engineering best practices among Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts. Ensure staff follow DBT and Python style guides, are using version control, and performing peer review of code
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work in close partnership with the data engineering team to ensure the analytic platforms are well governed and scalable. Serve as a subject matter expert to draft specifications around data quality and data completeness
