Are you a seasoned Event Technology leader looking to define the future of event tech at the world’s leading Identity provider? Are you driven by innovation, integrity, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to keeping your customers as your top priority?
Okta is looking for a Head of Event Technology for our global in-person and online strategic events and programs.
At this role your success will be measured by the ability to manage the program team to deliver on the vision, scope & success factors of the event technology program, on-schedule, with a high level of quality, while exceeding expectations of the program stakeholders:
In order to generate the impact this position requires, we expect you to:
- Define and own global tech and digital customer experience for all Okta’s strategic events and programs
- Lead global tech initiatives focused on cost efficiency, best user experience, supporting and promoting brand promises
- Drive the vision and cross-functional execution of state of the art event websites partnership with events’ audience acquisition lead
- Drive overall requirements of registration build, including reg paths, housing, payments, discount code application, as well as tracking and reporting needs
- Own mobile app strategy and deployment partnership with events’ audience acquisition lead
- Partner with Marketing technology team on any digital integrations/programming plans and new tool sourcing
- Lead cross-functional teams for delivery of live and on-demand online events
- Work with content team on event content catalog functionality and deployment
- Manage vendor relationships required to support programs including budgeting needs and R&R definition
- Lead strategy and deployment of badging and scanning solutions
- Proactively identify and manage programs risks and issues to ensure that they are avoided, mitigated, transferred, accepted, while always being transparent with stakeholders about the risk posture of the program.
- Articulate, track and execute all quality gates like QA complete, UAT hand-off, dry runs, executive sign-off, product releases, etc. in accordance with processes & procedures.
- Ensure security, privacy & legal reviews
- Travel up to 20% of time (US and globally when needed)
Basic Qualifications:
- Registration and event system tools management of large-scale events. This would include deep understanding and experience with ERC, SRC, content catalog, housing tools, mobile app, live and on-demand event technologies.
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally across internal teams and lead vendors independently
- Direct experience leading live online events independently produced as well as live broadcasts of large in-person events.
- Establish effective processes, meetings and milestones and regularly communicate deadlines and interdependencies.
Additional Qualifications:
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in a similar role
- Experience deploying and managing event tech and services like RainFocus, EventBase, Goldcast, CVENT, IBM, Vidyard, etc
- Ability to articulate recommendations mapped to strategic plan mapped to company goals
- Strong proficiency in gaining alignment and communicating with key inter-departmental collaborators
- Demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, act independently, and effectively risk mitigate under a constantly changing landscape
- Experience leading dispersed teams, vendors, and contractors

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:
$182,000—$255,000 USD
The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$202,000—$283,000 USD
