Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in calculus-based technical field plus at least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Pulse Power systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of office software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work underground.
  • Ability to function in a team environment; regular interface with Scientists, Engineers, Technicians, and Designers.
  • Ability to deal with pressures of deadlines and multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision on a dynamic multidisciplinary project with simultaneous commitments to performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Must have good work ethic, be motivated to succeed, and be a self-starter.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q-level security clearance; must be able to obtain and maintain access to classified information; age at least 18; able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing pulse power X-Ray sources, oscilloscopes, function generators, delay generators, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining the performance of pulsed power X-ray sources.
  • Provides support for execution of program/project activities and data collection (i.e., classified systems/networks, diagnostics, and x-rays).
  • Works with peers and other disciplines to coordinate project execution compliance.
  • Works with Scientists, Engineers and Technicians in the development and fielding of x-ray imaging, x-ray dosimetry, electrical diagnostics, and data acquisition systems.
  • Duties may include Team Supervisor, Person in Charge (PIC), and Radiation Generating Device Custodian (RGD).
  • Assists in researching, extracting, analyzing and compiling technical data.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, graphs, proposals, studies and correspondence.
  • Assists in preliminary engineering analysis, conceptual design and engineering calculations.
  • Assists in and reviews project design and technical documents.
  • Executes work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with radiographic and optical imaging systems is desired.
  • Experience with data analysis or engineering software such as MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, or Creo is desired.
