Requirements
  • Hold an MD degree (or equivalent) as well as postgraduate clinical training in Pediatrics
  • Have completed specialty training in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology with certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent)
  • Applicants to a clinician-scientist position are expected to have a minimum of 2 years of dedicated research training; a postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc or PhD) will be considered an asset
  • Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Be an active member of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH), McGill University Health Centre (MUHC)
  • Share equally in on call duties
  • Cover the inpatient 8-12 weeks per year and hold 2-3 half-day out-patient clinics per week (for academic clinicians)
  • Cover the inpatient 6-8 weeks per year and hold a minimum of one half-day out-patient clinic weekly (for clinician-scientists)
  • Participate in all clinical and administrative division meetings
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate trainees and participate in the pediatric allergy and immunology subspecialty training program
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary education mission, supporting the education and professional development of nurses and nurse practitioners
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently initiate, conduct, and manage a research program (for clinician-scientists)
  • Devote 50-75% of time to research and apply for salary support from the FRQS (for clinician-scientists)
  • Provide excellent clinical teaching and supervision to diverse residents and medical students
  • Contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
