Requirements
  • Seven or more years of travel industry knowledge and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in a travel management company or travel industry contact support center environment.
  • Three years of travel industry experience at the manager level managing consultants, leads, or supervisors.
  • Advanced knowledge of Sabre or Amadeus global distribution systems and online and offline travel operational processes.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with customer relationship management applications such as Salesforce and Zendesk.
  • Ability to build relationships and motivate people and teams while creating a knowledge-sharing culture and encouraging engagement.
  • Proven mentoring and motivational ability with a clear understanding of travel service requirements, the customer base, and challenges facing a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of Business Travel Consultants and maintain accountability for team success.
  • Develop team members through regular interaction reviews, coaching sessions, and one-to-one meetings.
  • Conduct email, voice, and chat interactions to understand travel consultants’ daily responsibilities.
  • Perform quality evaluations of travel consultant interactions and interrogate travel bookings and requests in travel tools to ensure service standards.
  • Monitor and highlight errors, provide constructive feedback, and coach consultants on preventative actions.
  • Review consultant and team performance metrics to identify opportunities in core competencies and provide feedback.
  • Monitor contact queues and service-level agreement performance to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Report weekly and monthly operational and team performance.
  • Set clear expectations so agents are motivated to meet and exceed role expectations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to address agent errors and learning needs and improve consultant performance.
  • Manage escalations and customer communications, owning customer issues through completion.
  • Participate in projects to develop, guide, and implement processes that improve service delivery and results.
  • Work with Operations and Service Leadership to review, update, and share global success metrics and supervise performance against those metrics.
  • Align the team with organizational expectations for quality, performance, and behavior through team meetings.
  • Lead consultants through change, encourage feedback, and clarify how changes affect their roles.
  • Support consultant recruitment and new-starter inductions.
  • Identify and manage employee performance concerns, escalating them to People Success or senior leadership when necessary.
  • Monitor and identify processes or procedures affecting team productivity.
  • Communicate travel industry updates and changes to the team.

Future updates will include automatic adjustments for schedule changes and access to OpenTable's private and group dining platform for booking private rooms and large tables. Navan launches unified events platform to streamline corporate meeting planning with AI

Navan has launched Navan Events, a unified platform for managing corporate meetings and events, now available in the US, UK and European markets. The AI-powered solution integrates venue sourcing, hotel RFPs, attendee registration and travel management into one system. The platform features an intelligent event assistant to guide planners through sourcing and negotiations, along with budget tracking and approval workflows. Navan acquires Brazilian travel firm Smartrips to expand Latin America presence

Navan, the AI-powered travel and expense management platform, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Smartrips, a leading Brazilian travel management company. The transaction marks Navan's first acquisition as a public company and extends its presence in Latin America. Brazil accounts for approximately 40% of corporate travel spend in Latin America and represents a critical market for global enterprises. Following integration, Navan customers with Brazilian operations will be able to book and manage all travel directly within the Navan platform, eliminating the need for separate booking systems. Founded in 2017, Smartrips will join Navan's portfolio of regional acquisitions, including Comtravo in Germany, Tripeur in India, and Reed & Mackay in the UK. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. Financial terms were not disclosed.
