Artera is seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded individual to fill the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In this position, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of our organization, overseeing sales, marketing, reimbursement, and market access. You will collaborate closely with the executive team to develop and implement initiatives that maximize revenue growth, enhance our market presence, and ensure the successful commercialization of our innovative medical AI tests.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy across multiple oncological product lines and solid tumors. Drive revenue growth, national and international market expansion, and customer acquisition through innovative approaches.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial team, including sales, marketing, reimbursement, and market access. Set clear targets and provide guidance to achieve commercial goals. Implement best practices for sales and marketing processes, pipeline management, and performance metrics. Balance the need to build a lean team at a fast-growing startup with the need to hire expertise across multiple disease sites
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams. Foster relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction. Analyze and offer creative strategies to introduce Artera products to ex-US markets. These include partnerships with health systems, large clinician group practices, pharmaceutical companies, payers, and any third party entities whose products or technologies would enhance the Artera offering.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Utilize insights to refine and enhance product offerings, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with, and support, other departments, including operations, product, medical affairs, regulatory, and clinical development to align commercial efforts with overall business objectives. Champion a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the organization.
- Performance Monitoring: Build a system to monitor KPIs, sales forecasts, and financial targets to measure performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement effective reporting mechanisms to track progress and provide regular updates to the executive team.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to commercial operations, pricing, contracts, and market fluctuations. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Substantial experience in developing commercial strategies and building teams across multiple oncological disease sites and product lines (high priority).
- Substantial experience bringing to market lab-developed tests and medical software or IVDs, with a proven track record of driving sales from <$10M to >$50M+ in ARR or similar (high priority).

- Ability to effectively function as a player-coach, working across the spectrum of very small to very large teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and inspiring teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Experience with oncology and biomarkers is required.
