Requirements
  • You have extensive experience managing an earned media campaign and garnering significant press coverage
  • You have a robust network of media relationships and extensive experience pitching political press
  • You have at least 7+ years of relevant experience in campaigns, issue advocacy, and political or other relevant settings
  • You are well organized with the ability to prioritize across multiple projects and deliver results under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • You are strong at people management and can work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team
  • You have excellent writing and editing skills
  • You are a self-starter and independent worker
  • You have flexibility and openness to evolving responsibilities
  • You are passionate about progressive causes and policies
  • You are talented at working with partner organizations and forming meaningful organizational collaboration
Responsibilities
  • Develop the communications plan, and work collaboratively with the Campaign Director to align strategies and tactics to reach the campaign's goals
  • Manage staff who will oversee digital and storytelling components of the education campaign
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues managing the campaigns, research, and partnerships efforts
  • Lead earned media outreach and lead media pitching efforts with reporters
  • Inform and drive content development such as message guides, talking points, LTEs, toolkits, and more
  • Work collaboratively with partners and allied organizations
  • Responsible for tracking and managing an approved budget

With experience in communications, digital, organizing, and research, they bring their skills to advocacy campaigns working to strengthen democracy, protect access to health care, and ensure the economy works for everyone.
