Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant certification or registration as CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, or RMA through AMT, or completion of the KHMG Medical Assistant Training Program or an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification or registration within 15 months of hire.
- For the Licensed Practical Nurse pathway, graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or equivalent and a current Ohio license are required.
- Medical assistants who are uncertified or unregistered at hire are restricted from administering medication and entering Epic orders until the required credentials are obtained and verified.
Responsibilities
- Assist with and deliver patient-care duties under the supervision of the provider and/or practice manager.
- Provide administrative support throughout the practice.
- Assist the provider with patient examinations and treatments and perform delegated duties under the provider's direction.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patient charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Cross-train to perform duties that improve the efficiency and continuity of patient-care delivery.
Desired Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience in a medical or physician office setting is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of the examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, and confidentiality and discretion is preferred.
- Experience using electronic medical records is preferred.
