Requirements
  • At least 12 years of experience in strategic partnerships, account management, business development, sales, consulting, or a related commercial function.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing large, complex enterprise relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior day-to-day relationship owner for a portfolio of high-value, high-touch strategic partners.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive account plans with growth objectives, priorities, milestones, and financial targets.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, policy and customer penetration, product adoption, and partner engagement.
  • Understand each partner’s business model, strategic priorities, customer base, economics, and competitive landscape to identify mutually beneficial opportunities.
  • Develop multi-year growth strategies and translate them into actionable annual and quarterly plans.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand into new products, channels, customer segments, locations, and distribution models.
  • Develop business cases and partnership proposals for new opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with senior leadership and relevant internal teams.
  • Turn successful pilots and initiatives into scalable programs.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers at strategic partners.
  • Establish regular executive business reviews and joint strategic planning sessions.
  • Represent the company with credibility and a strong understanding of each partner’s business.
  • Identify and resolve relationship risks, escalations, and competing priorities.
  • Act as the internal coordinator for strategic partner initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and other teams to deliver partner commitments.
  • Establish ownership, timelines, and accountability across complex initiatives.
  • Remove obstacles and drive execution across multiple functions.
  • Translate partner feedback and market insights into actionable internal priorities.
  • Own partner performance against agreed-upon key performance indicators and financial objectives.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to monitor growth, profitability, customer acquisition, retention, product penetration, and related metrics.
  • Analyze performance trends and develop recommendations to improve results.
  • Prepare executive-level updates and recommendations for internal leadership and partner stakeholders.
  • Manage the pipeline and prioritize opportunities based on strategic value, economics, feasibility, and time to market.

Venkat brings over 20 years of experience in insurance and financial services, having held senior positions at Argo Group, Clearcover and PURE Insurance, where she led underwriting, operations strategy and AI innovation. Earlier in her career, Venkat worked in product, pricing and risk management roles at Progressive, Kemper and Allianz/Fireman's Fund. She holds dual master's degrees in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research and Applied Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Independence Pet Group oversees brands including AKC Pet Insurance, OnePack Plan by PetPartners, Figo and ASPCA Pet Health Insurance. Insurance Pet Holdings raised the money from 27 investors and sold stock, options and warrants.The company recently acquired cat insurance company Felix for an undisclosed amount. In addition to providing insurance for more than 800,000 pets, Insurance Pet also offers microchip identification and an online pet registry.Dogs make up the majority of insured pets in the United States, with 80.1% of insured dogs compared to 19.9% of insured cats, according to the North American Pet Health Insurance Association State of the Industry Report. The total number of pets insured in 2022 reached 5.36 million, up from 4.4 million in 2021, according to the report.The pet insurance market size was valued at $9.4 billion in 2022 and is estimated to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 17.04% from 2023 to 2030, according to Grand View Research.Its CEO is Lane Kent, who had served as chief operating officer since the company’s formation in 2021.
