Requirements
  • Ability to interact tactfully with guests and personnel and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Experience in fast food, deli, or restaurant environments is valuable but not required.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and company policies, including training in slicers, fryers, hot-bar equipment, and related procedures.
  • Knowledge of perishable food and ability to work at a fast pace while multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in changing temperatures, including coolers, kitchens, freezers, and the sales floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, professional guest service, answer questions, and address guest concerns.
  • Help guests find items, answer questions, and provide deli recommendations.
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests efficiently according to deli production schedules.
  • Maintain high-quality hot-bar conditions, garnish items attractively, and follow protocols for item shrinking.
  • Collect food temperatures and maintain hot-food logs for safety and quality control.
  • Organize, stock, clean, and label the hot bar.
  • Resolve guest concerns by practicing the boomerang principle.
  • Maintain regular, timely attendance according to the work schedule and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
