Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in accounts payable
  • Two (2) years leading an accounts payable department for a non-profit organization with a complex chart of accounts
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software
Responsibilities
  • Guide the PATH accounts payable department to become a best-in-class function and exceed the requirements of both internal and external clients, in a complex and fast growth environment.
  • Manage a team of approximately 25 staff that (1) process client financial assistance, (2) process accounts payable, and (3) ensure payables data accuracy and fiscal compliance.
  • Provide leadership to PATH finance, program, and support departments on all payables matters.
  • Critically evaluate existing payables processing policies, systems, and procedures and implement creative solutions to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of PATH’s AP processing.
  • Enhance processes to optimize payment schedules and accurately allocate expenses to specific programs or grants.
  • Identify opportunities for increased automation and technology integration to streamline workflows and grant tracking.
  • Be the point person internally and externally for all financial systems – Intacct accounting, Filebound file management, Nexonia and Divvy (Bill Pay and Spend) credit card management.
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to implement a purchase order system within our accounting system.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to complete the Salesforce grant management system.
  • Support compliance with grant audit monitoring and reviews related to accounts payable processes and grant funding.
  • Perform regular analysis of accounts payable data to provide insights into performance and accuracy, and prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable activities and compliance to senior management.
  • Maintain strict compliance with internal controls, non-profit accounting regulations, and grant reporting requirements.
  • Work with the Controller and CFO to manage PATH’s cash flow.
