Requirements
  • A current Registered Nurse license in South Carolina is required.
  • A current South Carolina driver's license is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience is required, preferably in home intravenous therapies and patient or family education and training.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and organizational skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial patient assessments to determine whether patients are appropriate candidates for home intravenous therapy and whether therapy can be safely performed in the home.
  • Determine whether patients meet Intramed Plus acceptance criteria.
  • Document patient assessments completely and promptly.
  • Obtain clinical information needed to assess reimbursement and clinical needs.
  • Develop initial treatment plans with the pharmacist and Intramed Plus team for initiation of home infusion therapy.
  • Communicate assessments to referring agents and the Intramed Plus team.
  • Educate patients or caregivers about home intravenous therapy according to company policies and protocols.
  • Train patients or caregivers in administration techniques and operation of drug-delivery devices for home intravenous therapy.
  • Observe training completion and certify, when applicable, that patients or caregivers can safely administer intravenous therapy at home.
  • Document patient education and training immediately.
  • Educate and train home health nursing agency personnel on drug-administration methods when they assume responsibility for administering medication at home.
  • Begin coordination after the first introductory visit.
  • Assist the Nurse Supervisor or designee with coordinating home intravenous therapy among discharge planners, case managers, home health nursing agencies, and other parties.
  • Coordinate initiation of home intravenous therapy with Pharmacy, Operations, and Reimbursement teams.
  • Document coordination arrangements and activities promptly.
  • Communicate verbally and document coordination activities as established.
  • Monitor patient progress during hospitalization and throughout home intravenous therapy.
  • Triage problems reported by patients, caregivers, or home health nursing agency personnel and provide recommendations to resolve them.
  • Document monitoring activities and communicate with the branch regarding revisions to the patient's care plan when applicable.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with case managers, social workers, medical departments, and physicians at assigned accounts that may need home infusion services.
  • Work with hospital discharge managers to expedite safe and timely patient discharge.
  • Conduct initial training and admission at the hospital unless circumstances prevent it.
  • Present a positive and professional image while performing duties.
  • Assist in identifying potential marketing sources to expand business opportunities.
  • Participate in assessing patient care services and identifying service problems that do not meet Intramed Plus service goals.
  • Document service problems through established methods such as incident reports.
  • Assess patient and chart observations related to prescribed intravenous therapy at each visit.
  • Provide skilled nursing care and prescribed intravenous therapies to varied patient populations in potentially complex home settings.
  • Maintain technical skills according to State Board of Nursing and Intramed Plus standards through competency assessments during orientation and annually.
  • Complete patient evaluation tasks, including reviewing medications and vital signs.
  • Administer prescribed infusions as ordered.
  • Assess central venous access devices and provide appropriate care, including dressing changes and site care.
  • Obtain laboratory tests as ordered by the physician.
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Document and maintain a complete, updated treatment plan and meet documentation guidelines for certification and recertification periods.
  • Obtain verbal orders according to protocol when necessary.
  • Complete admission and revisit documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Handle on-call responsibilities professionally and effectively.
  • Work effectively with the on-call team.
  • Document on-call activities according to policy.

Option Care Health Q2 beats expectations with $1.4B revenue, narrows full-year guidance

Option Care Health reported second-quarter 2026 results that exceeded expectations. Revenue rose 7% sequentially to $1.4 billion, whilst adjusted EBITDA increased 12% to $117.5 million and adjusted EPS reached $0.45. Operating cash flow totalled $184 million. Acute therapies posted high-single-digit organic growth, while chronic revenue improved sequentially as the CID portfolio began to stabilise. However, CID-related pressure is expected to reduce 2026 revenue by roughly 600 basis points and gross profit by $55 million. The home and alternate-site infusion provider maintained its full-year revenue guidance at $5.675 billion to $5.775 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was narrowed to $480 million to $495 million, and adjusted EPS guidance to $1.85 to $1.92. The company repurchased $150 million of shares, nearly 5% of shares outstanding.

Option Care Health, the largest independent provider of home infusion services in the US, reported Q1 revenues of $1.35 billion, up 1.3% year on year but missing analyst expectations by 3.3%. The company operates 177 locations across 43 states with over 4,500 clinicians. Chief executive John Rademacher acknowledged the "mixed performance" and expressed dissatisfaction with revenue growth momentum. Full-year guidance also fell short of analyst expectations. Across the senior health, home health and hospice sector, seven tracked companies reported a satisfactory Q1, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 0.9% on average. However, Option Care Health posted the weakest performance against analyst estimates despite raising full-year guidance. The stock has fallen 27.1% since reporting, currently trading at $21.59.
