Responsibilities
  • Maintain an organization-wide inventory of digital certificates, including SSL/TLS, code-signing, and authentication certificates, using tools such as CyberArk and Venafi.
  • Monitor certificate expiration dates and initiate timely renewal workflows to prevent service disruptions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to use automated certificate renewal processes and implement renewals and revocations in a timely manner.
  • Document certificate management procedures and maintain current records in the certificate management system.
  • Monitor compliance dashboards and generate reports on data loss prevention policies and alerts.
  • Assist senior engineers with onboarding data sources and managing data assets within the Purview data map.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Purview scanning, classification, and policy enforcement.
  • Provide oversight of high-risk platform upgrades and migrations.
  • Assist with owning the overall compliance posture for backend systems, ensuring adherence to FFIEC guidelines, audit requirements, and IT risk management policies.
  • Coordinate with internal audit, risk, and compliance teams to deliver accurate evidence and remediation plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes to reduce audit findings and enhance security posture.
  • Support workload metrics for operational requests, system builds, migrations, and decommissions.
  • Act as an escalation point for major incidents and coordinate with leadership during crisis events.
  • Collaborate with architecture, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure technology decisions align with enterprise goals.
  • Champion disaster recovery planning, test execution, and after-action review improvements.
  • Ensure backend system documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with audit standards.
  • Review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly operational and compliance reports before submission to leadership.
  • Promote documentation as a core operational discipline across the team by setting expectations and accountability for quality.
  • Report team performance metrics and operational health to IT leadership.
  • Align IT solutions with business needs.

Flagstar returns to profit with $30M Q4 earnings after two challenging years

Flagstar Bank returned to profitability in the fourth quarter of 2025, reporting adjusted net income of $30 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to a $0.07 per share loss in the previous quarter. CEO Joseph Otting said the results mark a significant milestone after two challenging years. Flagstar Bank returned to profitability in the fourth quarter of 2025, reporting net income attributable to common stockholders of $0.05 per diluted share, or $0.06 on an adjusted basis. This marks a significant turnaround from a net loss of $0.11 per share in the third quarter. The bank demonstrated momentum in commercial and industrial lending, with commitments rising 28% to $3 billion and total CI loans increasing 2% quarter-over-quarter. Net interest margin improved 14 basis points to 2.05% on an adjusted basis, whilst operating expenses declined 3% compared to the previous quarter and 26% year-over-year. Credit quality strengthened, with non-accrual loans falling 8% and commercial real estate concentration improving to 381% from 405%. The bank reduced brokered deposits by $7.8 billion year-to-date and wholesale borrowings by $1 billion quarter-over-quarter.
