Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, International Business, or a related field is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience in banking operations, cash projections, trade finance, export documentation, and international banking is required.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing banking teams in banks or a corporate office is required.
  • Strong understanding of global banking practices and trade finance instruments is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools is required.
  • Knowledge of Export Letters of Credit and Export Standby Letters of Credit is required.
  • Knowledge of Export Documentary Collections, including CAD, D/P, D/A, and NET, is required.
  • Knowledge of Open Account transactions is required.
  • Knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, compliance regulations, and international trade finance regulations is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment is required.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional and international teams is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage global banking operations supporting export transactions across multiple international business units.
  • Oversee the processing, negotiation, and administration of Export Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Open Account transactions, and other trade finance instruments.
  • Ensure global banking teams complete the timely and accurate banking of export documentation and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate to banks when key performance indicators are not met and resolve related issues.
  • Interpret and advise internal stakeholders on Letter of Credit clauses, amendments, discrepancies, and documentary requirements.
  • Manage daily export banking activities, payment processing, and collections monitoring.
  • Ensure cash projections are updated daily by global banking teams.
  • Monitor payment status, collection activities, and outstanding banking transactions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Review and analyze banking reports, coordinate with documentation and banking teams, and monitor payment forecasts to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with banking institutions to resolve transaction delays, payment discrepancies, fees, and operational issues.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicator standards for advising and confirming Letters of Credit, document negotiations, and payments at global banks.
  • Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, international banking regulations, sanctions requirements, and company policies.
  • Review and analyze discrepancies identified by banks and internal teams, provide guidance on corrective actions, and escalate when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls related to banking operations.
  • Develop and mentor banking personnel at the VBS India banking team and Houston banking team.
  • Establish performance metrics, workflows, and service standards for global banking operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and strengthen controls.
  • Manage and monitor banking processes to ensure they are effective.
  • Partner with technology teams to improve banking systems, automation, reporting capabilities, and process standardization.
  • Use artificial intelligence, automation, and digital tools to streamline banking workflows, reduce manual processing, and improve operational visibility.
