JOB TITLE: WordPress Developer
REPORTING TO: Chief Administrative Officer
JOB TYPE: Part-time, contract
LOCATION: Remote
The opportunity: Primary Health is looking for a passionate, experienced, outcome-driven WordPress Developer to design and implement our growing website projects. This person understands how to manage and host a WordPress site and would be responsible for mostly front-end development, including website aesthetics, theme and plugin maintenance, and content delivery. The role requires someone who understands PHP/CSS/HTML/JavaScript, has strong content management skills, an eye for aesthetics, and experience improving search engine optimization (SEO).
How you will achieve success:
- Ensuring site high-performance and availability, website testing and stability.
- Managing all technical aspects of WordPress CMS.
- Creating and implementing Custom Post Types and Advanced Custom Fields.
- Troubleshooting and resolving content issues in a timely manner.
- Working with members of the Product and Marketing team to improve the company’s growing website, including developing landing pages, microsites, aesthetically pleasing content, site design, new site features, and improving SEO tracking for actionable suggestions.
- Regularly monitoring website performance, implementing content A/B tests for data-driven user journey decisions, and continuous testing for improvements.
- Helping with strategy and roadmap for future website architecture and scaling.
- Managing WordPress database backups, maintenance, WP themes and plugins.
- Ensuring security of website.
- Converting graphics into SVGs that look clean for web.
- Enabling best-practices for generating targeted email lists and lead content.
What you will bring to the table:
- 3+ years of experience as a WordPress Developer.
- Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, Lightsail).
- Experience with version control such as Git.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies including PHP, CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
- Experience ensuring functional excellence in technical aspects of SEO.
- Experience working with debugging tools, such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Experience using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track website actions.
- Experience with A/B content testing and tracking.
- Understanding of what would be required to move development from WordPress staging to production sites.
- Experience with LAMP stack development (PHP, Linux, Apache, MySQL) and comfortable working with databases.
- Experience with creating accessibility-friendly websites and transforming design specs.
- Self sufficient and can work independently on projects.
- Good communication skills.
