Requirements
  • An associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education is required.
  • No experience is required.
  • Proof of motor vehicle liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements is required upon hire and upon request.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • A Motor Vehicle Report, driver's license, Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care, and the applicable state Respiratory Care Practitioner license are required.
  • The role requires constant standing and walking, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, reaching, keyboard use, data entry, vision, smell, and hearing, occasional lifting or moving of patients and handling objects weighing 25-50 pounds, occasional driving, and rare crawling and running.
Responsibilities
  • Assess patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Provide respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders, department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate care plans for respiratory patients; evaluate patient progress and communicate with health care providers about treatment modifications, progress, and compliance.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and troubleshoot equipment-related questions and concerns.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Maintain departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
