Requirements
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent in a field related to the position is required.
  • Candidates must be assistant or associate professors, or possess the necessary qualifications to be appointed to these levels.
  • Candidates must have superior research achievements in the identified areas and proof of interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Candidates must have a solid record of publications, teaching, and training graduate-level students.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain external research funding.
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills in either English or French.
  • Candidates must submit a cover letter, up-to-date curriculum vitae, research plan, Brain-Heart Interconnectome relevance and research co-production statement, teaching interests statement, equity, diversity, and inclusion statement, names of three references, and the confidential employment equity self-identification questionnaire.
  • Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct scholarly activities such as research, artistic or literary creation, or professional work.
  • Provide academic service.
  • Supervise graduate and post-graduate trainees.
  • Teach.
Desired Qualifications
  • English-French bilingualism is an asset.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated strength in one or several of the following domains: postnatal neurovascular maturation and links to neurodevelopmental disorders; neurovascular interactions within stem cell niches; vascular senescence in neurodevelopment and aging; links between congenital heart disease, metabolic disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders; or early neurodevelopmental deficits and links to aging and neurodegeneration.
  • Candidates more than 10 years from their first independent academic research-related appointment may be considered when eligible career interruptions or other circumstances support a Tier 2 justification.
  • Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate an equity, diversity, and inclusion philosophy with concrete practices.
