Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree with up to 2 years of squash experience, or an equivalent combination, is required.
  • Prior coaching or competitive collegiate playing experience is required.
  • Credentials must reflect proven success and potential in coaching, recruiting, and developing student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association rules is required.
  • Understanding of the non-athletic scholarship environment of the Ivy League and the ability to identify and recruit prospective student-athletes and families is required.
  • Ability to assist current student-athletes with managing academic rigor, time management, and course load at Cornell University is required.
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing is required.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with team and player development and training.
  • Assist with practice and match planning.
  • Evaluate athlete performances and make recommendations to the head coach regarding participation in competitions.
  • Assist with ongoing recruitment of prospective athletes and assume on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities.
  • Support the team and players in thriving academically and integrate athletes with university and department services.
  • Participate in scheduling, planning, and travel arrangements, including transporting athletes to away competitions when needed.
  • Research and recommend equipment purchases.
  • Communicate with alumni and friends of the program.
  • Assist with fundraising for the program.
