The Role
As a Device Software Development Manager at Flock, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the creation of new product features and enhancing existing features, for Flock’s suite of Android-based embedded devices. This includes distilling product features down to requirements, guiding the implementation of code and tests against those requirements, and ensuring the timely deployment of features to our fleet of devices.Work closely with out product, Program, QA , operations teams to ensure high quality product delivery.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop a recipe for effective execution keeping product requirements and engineers growth at its core.
- Implement the best software architecture and processes that help us scale our product portfolio for efficient program execution
- Develop, implement, and enforce process/documentation at the interfaces of Device Software and key stakeholders
- Develop deep understanding of Flock’s product ecosystem and leverage Android expertise to build great products
We’re looking for people who have:
- Android Kotlin Application Development
- Extensive experience coding in C/C++, specific experience with Android Frameworks
- Experience in dealing with complex systems and codebases (AOSP, Android Makefile, HALs, etc)
- Optimize Android system services and frameworks to run in a headless environment
- Native Android Framework, Native Android Services, Binder, JNI Knowledge
- Strong Debugging and problem-solving skills

💰Salary & Equity: In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $190,000-$220,000 as well as stock options
