Requirements
  • The applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The applicant must be willing to become an armed officer while employed.
  • The applicant must successfully complete a psychological evaluation after a conditional offer.
  • The applicant must hold a valid Missouri driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • The applicant must complete the organization's background check and drug screening.
  • The applicant must have a high school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
  • The applicant must hold the required driving record and United States-issued driver's license credentials; for St. Charles County positions, the applicant must also hold a Security Officer License issued by St. Charles County or the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Responsibilities
  • Provide security services to maintain a reasonably safe and secure environment for staff, patients, visitors, and premises.
  • Conduct interior and exterior rounds, observe safety and security issues and theft, and monitor parking lots.
  • Provide door checks, identify lighting deficiencies, confirm proper elevator operation, assist with disruptive individuals and patient restraints, and escort staff and clients when requested.
  • Respond to overhead pages and requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel through the building and providing post-mortem services.
  • Provide professional customer service in complex and dynamic situations and proactively identify safety and security hazards by communicating with clinical staff.
  • Observe and report security concerns and assessments, complete incident reports and shift logs, and forward them to appropriate individuals.
  • Provide maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety activities, including alarm testing, checking life-safety equipment, automated external defibrillators, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, and door-integrity checks.
  • Enforce organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, review, and investigate incidents using the video management system.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to patrol when needed.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
