Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and application development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product owners, team members, software architects, and other functional teams to deliver new features from concept to deployment.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems by identifying inefficiencies and implementing enhancements.
  • Independently own development tasks and contribute to moderately complex features and technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs through code and system-level analysis.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback aligned with best practices.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate developers and support their technical growth.
  • Support performance tuning and scalability improvements.
  • Identify blockers early and collaborate with others to resolve issues.
  • Participate in the annual hackathon to explore and prototype new ideas.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to help ensure the high availability and reliability of Leap after demonstrating sufficient system knowledge.

  • Experience with high-performance computing environments, workload managers such as Slurm, PBS, or PBS Pro, and heterogeneous hardware integration.
  • Experience leveraging artificial-intelligence-assisted development tools and building AI-powered solutions to improve engineering productivity or automate workflows.
  • Experience building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing and deploying software in cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Argo CD, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting cloud-native applications.
  • Experience supporting production systems developed by the candidate, including troubleshooting, incident response, and operational support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn through exploration and feedback.
  • Interest in improving processes and systems and openness to supporting implementation.

D-Wave receives $1.57M NSF grant to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing

D-Wave Quantum has been selected to receive a $1.57 million grant from the US National Science Foundation through its National Quantum Virtual Laboratory programme. The funding will support D-Wave's participation in ERASE, a project focused on developing fault-tolerant quantum computing technologies. Led by Yale University, the ERASE project brings together academic and industry partners to advance dual-rail gate-model quantum computing. D-Wave, through its Connecticut-based subsidiary Quantum Circuits, will provide researchers access to its superconducting dual-rail gate-model quantum computing resources. The grant complements D-Wave's recent letter of intent for $100 million in proposed CHIPS and Science Act funding. D-Wave is the only company offering both annealing and gate-model quantum computing platforms, serving over 100 organisations across commercial, government and research sectors.
