Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Competency in addressing clinical matters over the phone or through a formal clinical assessment is required.
  • Understanding of payor sources and protocol, addiction treatment options, St. Luke’s Penn Foundation services, emergency management, and client/family interventions is required.
  • The role requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, up to eight hours at a time.
  • The role requires continual finger use for patient care, writing, and computer entry, along with the ability to hear normal conversation and good general, near, and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Screen and assess clients and families in a professional, thorough, and timely manner, explaining recommendations, alternatives, and rationale.
  • Triage clients who require services other than outpatient care, including Mobile Engagement Services, inpatient care, or mental health services.
  • Provide clinically related tasks, including correspondence and completion of managed care forms, while helping ensure services are authorized and client obligations are handled.
  • Manage pre-certifications and other insurance or county requirements for authorizing care.
  • Complete required documentation within standard time frames and ensure documentation is complete from admission through discharge, as applicable.
  • Maintain confidentiality of materials handled within the Network or entity and ensure proper release of information.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding employee, patient, and environmental safety and follow reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate and model the Network’s PCRAFT values during interactions with customers.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer and service improvement, operational systems and processes, and safety, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
