Requirements
  • Previous office-related experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must have minimal literacy and the ability to add and subtract numbers, recognize names, and accurately complete required documentation.
  • Must be able to tolerate frequent work interruptions, organize work, and reset priorities to complete work responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be free of communicable diseases during the stage of communicability unless assigned duties that minimize transmission risk.
  • Must be certified by a physician as medically capable of performing the prescribed duties; the examination includes a drug screen and tuberculosis testing.
  • Must comply with uniform and dress requirements.
  • Must be able to work in environments with potential exposure to infectious waste, diseases, hazardous materials as defined by OSHA, and angry or combative residents and personnel.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional telephone reception by answering and screening incoming calls, directing inquiries appropriately, and communicating messages accurately, clearly, and promptly.
  • Maintain the security of residents' information during day-to-day operations.
  • Greet and welcome residents, families, visitors, staff, vendors, and other guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide accurate information, direction, and assistance to residents, families, visitors, staff, vendors, and other guests.
  • Respond to requests for information by providing brochures, informational packets, and community resources, and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member for follow-up.
  • Input transportation requests and enter work orders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate replenishment of forms and printed materials before stock is depleted.
  • Ensure all forms and documents are current, organized, and readily accessible.
  • Maintain the appearance and organization of the lobby and reception area.
  • Ensure magazines, brochures, and other reading materials are current, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Monitor the reception area for spills, clutter, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns, and promptly notify Environmental Services or the appropriate department for resolution.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous office-related experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry is preferred.
