Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Proficiency in the application, acquisition, preparation, and troubleshooting of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Charge Nurse in surgical and procedural areas to prioritize room turnover and set up anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures using available resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate Anesthesia Technician activities and delegate daily duties and assignments to facilitate efficient workflow and assistance with anesthesia care for patients.
  • Facilitate training for new employees and continuing education for Anesthesia Technician staff.
  • Develop standard work, determine work priorities, and schedule staff coverage adequately.
  • Resolve challenges encountered during daily operations and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Promote teamwork and encourage regular communication while informing nursing staff of relevant workflow issues.
  • Serve as a resource and role model and help resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Assist anesthesia providers and nurses by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Anesthesia Technician at an acute care hospital.
  • Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians certification from ASATT.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
