Software Engineer

Your team:

Our DevOps team is the cornerstone of Givelify. We work with the rest of the technology team to improve reliability, scalability, and security under extreme demand. We work in tight-knit, cross-functional teams in partnership with other Givelify’s Engineering and Technology team members. Givelify’s Engineering and Technology team forms the company’s backbone, facilitating the seamless integration of services powering the engine of doing more good in the world. 

The Software Engineer - DevOps, Platform will get to:

• Lead the design and create web-based IDP tools to enable the development team to quickly and consistently build and deliver services in a Kubernetes-orchestrated environment, enhancing productivity and project outcomes.
• Assist in designing and implementing highly available and scalable AWS (EKS) Kubernetes clusters tailored to meet the organization’s needs across production, development, and testing environments.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines within the IDP, ensuring consistent and efficient environment setups.
• Integrate and implement GitOps best practices and methodologies throughout the engineering process, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role:

• Take a leadership role in the evolution of our internal developer platform.
• Work in small cross-functional teams of experienced and extraordinarily talented engineers from different disciplines in a CI/CD environment.
• Participate in engineering efforts to support new features directly impacting the relationship between philanthropic causes and those who support them.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology and Platform/IDP practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the role.

Your experience:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (STEM)
• Experience with public cloud computing platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, etc.) 
• 3+ years' experience in Kubernetes, with a clear understanding of the inner workings of Kubernetes in an AWS EKS environment
• 3+ years' backend experience in object-oriented design and programming
• 1-2 years hands-on working with ArgoCD, along with a good understanding of the tool
• Hands-on with building and supporting Microservice architecture
• Experience in Agile development practice and continuous integration/continuous delivery environment (CI/CD)
• Designing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, K8s, ArgoCD, Crossplane, Terraform, Git, and more
• Knowledge of Linux environments
