Anna Wójcik to Lead Acrisure's new Gdańsk Office, supporting the company's growth in Europe. Following its dynamic growth, the company from the financial services and technology sector plans to hire 200 people, with a total of 500 jobs to be created within three years. Acrisure, a global fintech leader headquartered in Michigan, USA, announced that it is expanding its existing presence in Poland by opening a new office in Gdańsk. The office is headed by Anna Wójcik, a manager with more than twenty years of experience in managing global operations and building corporate strategies for international organisations. The investment is intended to strengthen the company's European operational base while also giving an important boost to the local job market and the region's economy. In its first year of operation, Acrisure plans to hire around 200 people, with a total of up to 500 jobs to be created within three years, once full operational capacity is reached. The office will be based in the Olivia Centre complex in Gdańsk Oliwa. As one of the fastest-growing companies in financial services and technology worldwide, Acrisure has already reached revenues of nearly 5 billion dollars and operates across North America, Latin America and Europe, underlining the scale and ambition behind its investment in Poland. The new office in Gdańsk will be an important centre for Acrisure's growing European operations, offering long-term career development opportunities in areas supporting key business functions and enabling better coordination of activities across the organisation. The positions currently being recruited for span a range of key business functions, including accounting and finance, compliance, financial planning and analysis, IT, cybersecurity and HR. A new office under Polish leadership The new office has been headed since 1 August by Anna Wójcik, who brings more than twenty years of experience in managing global operations, leading major transformation projects and developing strategies for international organisations. She joined Acrisure from Nordea, where as Head of Operations Capability and Strategic Project Lead she was responsible for developing processes on a global scale and delivering strategic change programmes. Prior to that, as Head of Cross Functional Services at Bayer, she led the relocation and transformation of key corporate functions within a global organisation. She also spent many years with the General Electric Group, at GE Money Bank and Bank BPH, where she rose to the position of managing director. Anna Wójcik is a graduate of Gdańsk University of Technology and NEOMA Business School. - I was born and raised in the Tricity, so being able to help build Acrisure's growth right here, in my hometown region, fills me with enormous pride. This is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the world, and the decision to invest in Gdańsk is a clear sign of trust in the city and its people. Invest in Pomerania has a unique opportunity to build, from the ground up, an interesting and ambitious workplace that will allow people from Pomerania to develop their careers in a truly global environment, said Anna Wójcik, Head of the Gdańsk Office at Acrisure. Gdańsk - talent potential and strategic location The decision to launch operations in Gdańsk stems from the city's reputation as a hub for highly skilled employees and from the strategic significance of the location for Acrisure's growing presence in Europe. It also highlights Poland's increasing importance as an attractive destination for companies in the financial services and technology sectors. - Following the acquisition of Efficient Insurance Solutions earlier this year, its expansion in Gdańsk represents an important step in building a more integrated European operation. By developing its capabilities in a location known for its strong access to highly skilled talent, Invest in Pomerania is strengthening its ability to attract exceptional employees, accelerate innovation and support Acrisure's long-term growth, says Jarosław Zboralski, HR Director at Acrisure in Gdańsk, responsible for recruitment. - The opening of Acrisure's office in Gdańsk is a clear signal to the market - confirming that talent from the Pomeranian region, in fintech and beyond, represents the highest European standard. The scale of planned employment also creates real opportunities for its regional labour market. As the regional government, Invest in Pomerania is pleased that Invest in Pomerania has been able to support this project from the very beginning through the dedicated Invest in Pomerania team at the Pomerania Development Agency, comments Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Acrisure entered the Polish market in 2023 through the acquisition of Unilink, a company headquartered in Poland and operating across Central and Eastern Europe. Unilink is active in, among others, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, Moldova and Croatia. Since then, Acrisure has expanded its presence in the region, including through the acquisition of Efficient Insurance Solutions in Gdańsk earlier this year. The new office forms part of Acrisure's wider strategy, which aims to further develop the company's global business based on advanced analytics, artificial intelligence tools and specialist industry expertise.

2.2 million vehicles face theft risk from dealer-installed anti-theft device vulnerability. Millions of vehicles equipped with dealer-installed aftermarket anti-theft systems may actually be more vulnerable to theft because of a Bluetooth security flaw discovered by researchers at the University of California San Diego. The researchers estimate that at least 2.2 million vehicles sold since 2017, primarily through Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, and Jeep dealerships in Southern California, are affected. Because many of these vehicles have entered the used car market, vulnerable vehicles are now spread across the United States, Canada, and other countries. The vulnerability affects KARR and SWDS systems installed by dealerships as inventory management and optional anti-theft devices. Researchers found that every device relied on the same encryption key, allowing attackers within Bluetooth range to unlock vehicle doors and disable or enable engine immobilization functions. While the flaw alone does not let thieves start a vehicle, it can eliminate one of the biggest barriers to theft by providing access to the interior, where other commonly available automotive tools could be used to complete the theft. For insurance claims professionals, the findings could influence theft investigations involving vehicles equipped with aftermarket dealer-installed security systems. Adjusters may encounter claims where owners believed their vehicles had enhanced theft protection, only to learn the installed system created an unexpected vulnerability. Knowing whether a vehicle carried one of these systems may become relevant when evaluating theft circumstances, reviewing police reports, or investigating recovery timelines. The issue also presents potential subrogation considerations. Depending on the facts of an individual claim, insurers may evaluate whether liability extends beyond the vehicle owner to dealerships, installers, device manufacturers, or other parties involved in the installation and security of the aftermarket system. The researchers note that the devices remain active even when customers decline the paid security service, potentially expanding the population of affected vehicles. Acrisure, the manufacturer of the KARR-SWDS devices, released a firmware update on July 20, 2026. Vehicle owners must install the update through the KARR mobile app. The researchers recommend stronger authentication requirements for future Bluetooth-enabled vehicle security products, including requiring physical interaction inside the vehicle before pairing a new smartphone.
