Requirements
  • Experience in youth coaching, ideally in climbing or a related sport.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching youth in climbing or a related athletic discipline.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills with a passion for working with children.
  • Proficiency in belaying and teaching physical training exercises with an emphasis on safety and proper technique.
  • Ability to stand, belay, spot climbers, and perform various physical activities for extended periods.
  • Capacity to provide hands-on support to climbers of all ages while adapting to individual needs and abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead team practices and prepare climbers for competitions.
  • Develop and implement training plans that promote skill development and personal growth.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help climbers improve.
  • Collaborate with other coaches to ensure consistency and quality across all team levels.
  • Assist with tryouts, team selection, and advancing climbers through the program.
  • Oversee climber safety during practices, ensuring all belaying and spotting meets standards.
  • Ensure training impacts gym members and equipment appropriately.
  • Communicate with parents about schedules, competitions, and updates.
  • Provide timely feedback on individual and team performance.
  • Manage team registrations, attendance, and United States of America Climbing affiliations.
  • Work with gym management on program logistics and facility coordination.
Desired Qualifications
  • United States of America Climbing coaching certification, or willingness and ability to obtain it.
