Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a business analyst, product analyst, or project manager.
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, business, information technology, commercial real estate, or a related field.
  • Experience using JIRA, Microsoft DevOps, Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, and Figma to investigate system behaviour, navigate databases, anticipate edge cases, and document if/then logic.
  • Ability to distill high-level business requests into structured technical requirements that engineers can execute.
  • Ability to document platform dependencies meticulously.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business context to engineering teams.
  • Ability to set and manage stakeholder expectations and keep appropriate stakeholders informed.
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for learning new tools and technologies, including artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of workload, and recognize when escalation is appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Transform stakeholder ideas into user stories, feature scopes, and technical requirements.
  • Create customer journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes that define the user experience before development.
  • Investigate system behaviour, navigate databases, and resolve reported issues at the source.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure technical feasibility and execution of new features.
  • Gather requirements, analyze user behaviour, and identify product improvements that address business pain points.
  • Implement system changes and configurations to tailor lending solutions to business and partner needs.
  • Receive and triage stakeholder inquiries and bug reports, collaborate with stakeholders and developers to diagnose issues, communicate status, and drive timely resolutions.
  • Learn the nuances of commercial mortgage lending, maintained legacy systems, and the evolving platform to deliver effective solutions.

Nesto Acquires CMLS Group, $60B Mortgages

Montréal-based online mortgage lender Nesto has acquired Vancouver-based CMLS Group, the third-largest mortgage finance company in Canada, for an undisclosed amount. The combined entity will have over 1,000 employees across 10 offices and more than $60 billion in mortgages under administration. The deal was supported by investments from Diagram Ventures, Portage, NAventures, IGM Financial, BMO Capital Partners, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, and Fondaction. CMLS shareholders will have an equity stake in the combined entity.
